About the Role

The Head of SEO plays a key role in ensuring the quality and effectiveness of Chili's organic growth strategies for our clients. This position requires strong expertise in technical SEO, content strategy, and off-page SEO to develop and implement best-in-class enterprise and local SEO strategies that drive rankings, traffic, and conversions.

You will be responsible for leading the SEO execution team, ensuring alignment with industry best practices, Chili’s performance-driven culture, and client objectives. You will also be involved daily with large client accounts, especially those in the early phases of onboarding, to ensure a seamless transition and long-term success.

You will report directly to our Head of Growth and will be responsible for driving Chili’s own SEO visibility and lead generation strategy.

Ultimately, the Head of SEO at Chili is responsible for ensuring excellence in final delivery by:

  • Developing and executing SEO strategies that drive measurable results.
  • Ensuring full utilization of all tools and data resources to optimize SEO efforts.
  • Training and mentoring analysts to stay ahead of evolving SEO strategies.
  • Aligning SEO efforts with client objectives and business goals.
  • Becoming a thought leader in CRO and data-driven SEO strategies within the company.
  • Overseeing client reporting and strategy presentations in weekly and monthly meetings.


In Detail:

SEO Strategy & Execution

  • Develop and implement on-page, technical, and off-page SEO strategies to increase organic traffic and rankings.
  • Oversee keyword research, content optimization, site structure recommendations, and technical audits.
  • Define and apply best practices for internal linking, meta optimizations, and structured data.
  • Ensure SEO compliance with Google’s latest algorithm updates.

Data-Driven SEO Optimization

  • Utilize Google Analytics (GA4), Google Search Console, SEMrush, Ahrefs, and other SEO tools to measure performance.
  • Define and apply best practices for A/B tests, content gap analysis, and SEO experiments.
  • Monitor and analyze multi-level conversion funnels to understand how organic traffic contributes to business goals.

Technical SEO & Site Health

  • Conduct regular site audits to identify and resolve technical SEO issues.
  • Optimize Core Web Vitals, mobile-friendliness, crawlability, and indexation.
  • Work closely with developers and UX teams to ensure SEO best practices are implemented.

Link Building & Off-Page SEO

  • Oversee backlink acquisition strategies to improve Domain Authority (DA) and Domain Rating (DR).
  • Ensure link-building efforts focus on high-quality, relevant websites.
  • Maintain compliance with Google's link-building guidelines, avoiding black-hat SEO tactics.

Team Leadership & Training

  • Mentor and train SEO analysts and specialists, ensuring they stay updated with new industry trends.
  • Establish clear KPIs for SEO performance and oversee execution.
  • Ensure full adherence to internal processes, including reporting, content briefing, and strategy execution.

Client Management & Reporting

  • Present SEO strategy, performance reports, and insights to clients in a clear, data-driven manner.
  • Align SEO strategies with contractual commitments and business objectives.
  • Ensure the team fully utilizes reporting dashboards to track campaign success.

CRO & Data-Driven SEO Culture

  • Champion CRO (Conversion Rate Optimization) and data-driven SEO strategies across Chili.
  • Ensure organic traffic is optimized for conversions, working alongside PPC and CRO teams.
  • Drive testing and optimization strategies for landing pages, blog content, and product pages.


Requirements:

  • Minimum 8 years of professional experience (preferably in startups & agencies).
  • 4+ years of leadership experience managing SEO teams, targets, and KPIs.
  • Proven experience managing enterprise-level SEO projects.
  • Deep expertise in SEO (on-page, technical, and off-page).
  • Advanced proficiency with Google Analytics 4, Google Search Console, SEMrush, Ahrefs, Screaming Frog, and Looker (or Tableau/Power BI).
  • Experience with technical SEO elements, including schema markup, Core Web Vitals, crawl budget, and site architecture.
  • Strong understanding of content marketing strategies and their impact on SEO.
  • Experience with CRO and conversion funnel analysis is a major plus.
  • SQL knowledge for data analysis is a plus.
  • Strong leadership and mentorship abilities.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills for client meetings.
  • Analytical mindset, with a focus on data-driven decision-making.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with development, content, and paid media teams.
  • Advanced English proficiency (Spanish or Portuguese is a plus).
